Cookie Stamp Builder

Create personalized cookie stamps with correctly mirrored printable lettering, a readable on-screen preview, and optional enhanced SVG or emoji detail.

Design a personalized 3D printable cookie stamp with the free Cookie Stamp Builder. Add names, short messages, emoji, SVG artwork or decorative patterns, then export a printable model. Customize stamp diameter, raised relief, rim and an optional detachable handle.

Design a Custom Cookie Embossing Stamp

Choose a flower rosette, sunburst or concentric rings, or switch to custom text and artwork. A centered circular layout keeps text and emoji or SVG designs inside the stamp rim. Adjust font, size, line spacing, artwork gap and embossing depth. Short, bold lettering is usually easier to print and press than intricate details.

Text orientation: A cookie stamp must have horizontally mirrored lettering so the impression reads correctly in dough. Printable STL, OBJ and 3MF exports always retain this mirror. Turn on Readable Preview to see the finished cookie impression, or turn it off to inspect the mirrored stamp face; this affects only the preview.

Enhanced Detail for SVG and Emoji

Select Artwork Relief Mode: Enhanced Detail (Layered Relief) when using multi-region SVG or emoji artwork. The existing SmartSVG height-band system translates distinct artwork regions into stepped embossing depths, which can preserve outlines and interior detail without requiring multiple filament colors. Refine the depth step and individual region heights to suit your nozzle and dough. Single-region artwork cannot gain new details from this setting; always test small or narrow relief features before printing.

Separate Glue-On or Snap-Fit Handle

Make a palm-press disc or add a separately printed handle. Glue-On uses a flat bonding foot. Snap-Fit Detent uses a hollow plug and matching recessed socket; adjust radial clearance to your printer. Print and test a small snap connection before assembly, and do not force a brittle handle.

Recommended Print Settings

Use these as starting points for a calibrated FDM printer and inspect the slicer preview before printing.

  • Material: PLA for dry prototype impressions; PETG is worth considering for more resilient snap-fit handles. Neither material alone guarantees food-contact safety.
  • Nozzle: 0.4 mm for most designs; a smaller nozzle or simpler lettering may help with fine details.
  • Layer height: 0.12–0.16 mm for detailed raised lettering; 0.20 mm for simpler motifs.
  • Walls: 3–4 perimeters for the stamp rim and handle.
  • Infill: Start with 20–30% gyroid or grid; increase toward 35% for larger or harder-pressed designs.
  • Stamp orientation: Print the disc flat-back-down on the build plate, with raised relief facing up.
  • Handle orientation: Print a glue-on handle adhesive-foot-down; print a snap handle grip-down with its retaining plug upward.
  • Supports: Usually none for the disc; inspect snap-plug and handle overhangs and add localized supports only if needed.
  • Bed adhesion: A skirt is normally enough; add a small brim if corners or handle edges lift.
  • Finishing: Remove strings and rough edges and verify imprint clarity with a test piece.

Food-Contact and Cleaning Guidance

Ordinary FDM prints have layer lines, seams and potential voids that can retain food residue. A food-safe-labelled filament alone does not validate the finished print for direct food contact. For baking, use a verified food-contact-safe process or suitable barrier, and consider printer components, colorants, coatings and cleaning procedures. Clean and dry surfaces thoroughly; avoid ovens, dishwashers and heat-sensitive uses.

Make complementary shapes with the 3D Printed Cookie Cutter Creator, then emboss them with your custom stamp. To use a logo or drawing, first trace it to real vector geometry with the Image to SVG Converter and upload the cleaned SVG to the Cookie Stamp Builder.
